First of all, fur should never be hand‑washed or dry‑cleaned. Typically, cleaning involves applying and rubbing with agents such as alcohol, talcum powder, or magnesium oxide powder, followed by a gentle spray‑wash, to remove dirt and maintain the fabric’s condition. Of course, the specific cleaning method will vary depending on the type of fur.

Mink Fur Cleaning : Mix magnesium oxide powder with talcum powder in a 1:1 ratio. After preparing the cleaning solution, lay the fur flat and use a sponge or cotton swab to gently dab the solution onto the stains. If the stains are particularly stubborn, repeat the process several times. Then let it sit for a day, blow off the cleaning agent with a hairdryer, and finally, we recommend hanging the fur on a mannequin.

General fur cleaning for sheepskin items : Mix 200–250 ml of 95% alcohol with 500–1000 g of talcum powder. Transfer the resulting cleaning solution into a spray bottle, apply it to the stained area, and gently wipe with a sponge or cotton swab. Finally, hang the garment on a mannequin and use a wide-toothed comb to gently detangle and smooth the fibers in the direction of the pile.

Yellowing treatment for white plush fabric : Mix hydrogen peroxide with water at a ratio of 1:10. The treatment method is essentially the same as for the two methods described above.

Rabbit fur cleaning Rabbit‑fur furs are quite delicate. Because the fibers of rabbit hair are covered with numerous scales, machine washing can cause the fur to felt, compromising its softness and appearance. Therefore, it’s best to have rabbit‑fur items dry‑cleaned or taken to a professional after‑sales service for cleaning. Although rabbit‑fur furs aren’t particularly expensive, they still require proper care once you’ve purchased them.

What should I do if my fur coat gets wet? : If you accidentally get your fur coat wet, never try to dry it with heat—especially not in direct sunlight, with a hair dryer, or in a tumble dryer. Fur is sensitive to heat; exposure can cause the fur and leather to crack and become brittle. We recommend laying it flat in a cool, well-ventilated area to air‑dry naturally. However, if the stain is from a beverage, sauce, or other substances, we advise taking the coat to a professional after‑care service as soon as possible.

How should fur be cared for? : Prevent fur from getting damp or exposed to heat; store it in a well-ventilated area, hanging it rather than stacking it; keep it away from all chemicals, especially strong corrosives. When hanging fur garments, avoid steel hangers to prevent tearing the material; after hanging, consider covering the piece with a garment bag—just be sure not to use a plastic one. Since fur contains protein, it’s prone to insect infestation, so we recommend placing mothballs or insect repellents inside; if possible, store it in the refrigerator. Finally, never alter the style of your fur pieces yourself!
